MUDr. Ondřej Strýček, Ph.D., has achieved significant international recognition. For his article published in the journal Epilepsia Open, he received the Epilepsia Open Prize 2025 for the best clinical study of the year.

We are pleased to announce that MUDr. Ondřej Strýček, Ph.D. has been awarded the prestigious Epilepsia Open Prize 2025 in the Clinical category.

The award-winning paper, titled “Metabolic connectivity as a predictor of surgical outcome in mesial temporal lobe epilepsy”, was published in Epilepsia Open in 2024 and offers important insights into the relationship between brain metabolic connectivity and surgical outcomes in temporal lobe epilepsy. The study was selected as the best clinical paper of the year from among hundreds of submissions by young epileptologists worldwide.

Since 2018, the Epilepsia Open Prize has been awarded to outstanding researchers under the age of 45 whose publications make a significant contribution to the advancement of epilepsy diagnosis, treatment, and understanding.
