MUDr. Vít Všianský, a young neurologist at the Brno Epilepsy Center, achieved significant academic success with his recent publication. At the 36th Czech and Slovak Epileptology Congress in Olomouc, he was awarded the prestigious Jan Marek Marci Award for his outstanding paper, “Twenty-five years of epilepsy surgery at a Central European comprehensive epilepsy center – Trends in intervention delay and outcomes.”
Published in the respected journal Epilepsia Open, the study offers a comprehensive overview of the evolution and current trends in surgical treatment of epilepsy based on 25 years of experience at the Brno Epilepsy Center. Všianský’s research focuses on analyzing long-term trends in the care of patients with pharmacoresistant epilepsy and exploring ways to improve the efficiency of treatment. The analysis covers more than 700 patient pathways to epilepsy surgery.
