The Brno Epilepsy Center is celebrating thirty years of its existence. Over the years, it has become one of the most important centers in the Czech Republic, helping people with epilepsy and offering comprehensive care—including diagnostics, treatment, and counseling—for patients whose seizures cannot be controlled by medication alone.
In February, the center updated its website, which is now more user-friendly and easier for patients to navigate.

Every year, the second Monday in February is appointed International Epilepsy Day. The medical staff of the neurological clinic at St. Anne’s Hospital in Brno have therefore joined the international awareness campaign “50 million steps against the stigma”. The campaign aims not only to raise awareness of the disease, but also to draw attention to its prevalence through a precise number of steps. Fifty million people are affected by epilepsy, hospital spokesman Jiří Erlebach told the BRŇAN news portal.
