The program of the recent 16th European Congress of Epileptology in Athens (September 5–9, 2026) included a special session dedicated to the scientific contributions of Professor Ivan Rektor. The session focused on his influence in the fields of epileptology and clinical neurophysiology.
As part of this session, titled “Special Session: Ivan Rektor’s Enduring Impact on Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology,” the current director of our center, Professor Milan Brádzil, Ph.D., also delivered a lecture. In his presentation to the scientific community, he summarized the professor’s role in shaping modern epileptology in the Czech Republic and abroad.
The international response at the Athens congress confirmed that Professor Rektor’s approaches have a permanent place in modern epileptology. At our center, these insights continue to form the fundamental framework for diagnosis, treatment, and the future direction of research.
