Professor Ivan Rektor accepted the prestigious honorary membership of the EAN during the opening ceremony of the 11th EAN Congress in Helsinki in June 2025. He was awarded this honor for his lifetime achievements in the field of neurology. This extraordinary recognition reflects his contribution to the international neurological community and his long-term efforts to introduce advanced treatment methods in the Czech Republic, particularly in the fields of epileptology, epilepsy surgery, deep brain stimulation, and the development of neuroscience research programs, as well as his many years of teaching.
